1. How did the idea of creating content on social media and opening the Ally&Aury channel come about?
The idea of creating content on social media came from me, Ally, when I was still in middle school. Then Aury joined in 2020, during the height of the pandemic when we didn’t have much to do. Our goal was to share our passion for studying, to raise awareness among our peers about this topic,
and to help them by sharing tips about school.
2. How did you react when the “Theatre is Cool” project was proposed to you? Did you expect such an unusual initiative?
When the “Theatre is Cool” project was proposed to us, we were particularly excited. Our grandmothers have always transmitted to us a love of theatre, so it was like revisiting old memories to create new ones together.
3. What was your first encounter with theatre as an art form? Has your perception changed during the project?
Our very first experience with theatre was at the ages of 3 and 6, when we performed in our dance recitals. The project has certainly helped deepen our passion and made going to the theatre an important moment to share with our friends, but especially with our family.
4. How important do you think social media is for bringing young people closer to realities such as theatre?
Social media has a significant impact on young people. Trends and viral content aren’t just rumours; repeatedly seeing posts about a specific topic inevitably increases its visibility. What’s truly important is to use social media to share content about subjects like school and theatre, as it could really make a difference.
5. What kind of feedback have you received from your community about the content you’ve created? Any comments that particularly stood out?
The community has responded very positively to the content we’ve created. Many people shared their own experiences with theatre through direct messages, or expressed their newfound interest
6. What was the most fun or memorable moment while creating content for “Theatre is Cool”?
The most precious memory during the content creation process was undoubtedly experiencing the theatre firsthand with our loved ones, namely our grandmothers and parents. We truly believe that theatre is a unique opportunity that should be shared.
7. If you had to convince one of your followers to go to the theatre for the first time, what would you say?
We would tell them that theatre is a truly special form of entertainment that allows you to experience cathartic emotions. Immersing yourself in the characters’ stories could even help you resolve personal challenges that might be difficult to address in other contexts.
8. Do you have any future projects that integrate cultural experiences like this?
We will definitely be attending the theatre on other occasions. We’re big fans of the opera season held every summer in our beloved Arena, so catching an opera performance is a certainty. Additionally, Ally is looking forward to the upcoming shows promoted by Associazione Atti.
9. Which aspects of theatre do you think are the “coolest” for younger generations, and how could they be further enhanced?
Promoting performances that go beyond simple representation—perhaps by involving the audience or sharing stories and anecdotes that resonate with young people. This would undoubtedly make theatre cooler for Gen Z.
10. What advice would you give to other influencers who want to promote cultural projects like “Theatre is Cool”?
We strongly encourage our colleagues to talk about it: a single piece of content isn’t enough to draw a community into this world; the communication needs to be ongoing and consistent. Share your day and show that it’s possible to integrate cultural activities like theatre into your life and how much it truly warms the heart.
